TONE MATCH PATCHES, CAPTURES, AND PROFILES OF OUR BOGNER GOLDFINGER 45 SUPER LEAD

For these patches, we’ve captured a Bogner Goldfinger 45 Super Lead. The result is a set of presets and captures that sound exactly like our amp, and the microphones, preamps, and EQ chains that we use to record it.

The Goldfinger Super Lead has become one of our absolute favorite amps at Worship Tutorials. It features two channels – the Alpha (clean) channel and the Omega (dirty) channel. The Alpha channel reminds us of a vintage black-panel Fender amp, but with more midrange, and the Omega channel is one of the best Marshall Plexi tones we’ve ever heard in any amplifier. This amp simply does not have a bad tone in it, and paired with it’s 2×12 cabinet (with Celestion G12H and G12M speakers), it is an absolute joy to play.

We’ve captured and tone-matched the amp with a Royer 121 and Earthworks SR25 through a stereo Neve 1073 preamp.

TONE MATCH (Gen 2) PATCHES (Applies to Line 6 and Fractal presets)

These are part of our ‘Tone Match’ line of patches. To create these patches, we make custom IR’s that ‘match’ the HX and Fractal amp models to our real-world amp. The result is the Line 6 and Fractal units sound almost exactly like our actual amplifiers.

The ‘Gen2’ indicates a new process we’ve used when Tone Matching our amplifiers that takes more of the amplifier’s cab and speaker into account, resulting in a more accurate tone match impulse response.

Line 6 Patches available for Helix (floor, LT, and Native), HX Stomp (including Stomp XL), and POD Go.

This download includes patches for Helix, HX Stomp, and POD Go with options for both single coils and humbuckers. Please make sure to import the appropriate patch for your hardware – they are not interchangeable.

NOTE: The HX Stomp and POD Go folders include ‘FX” patches. These patches include the additional effects blocks from the full Helix patch.

Feel free to mix and match the additional ‘FX’ blocks into the main patches to suite your needs.

AMP CHANNEL SWITCH

We’ve set a button on the Helix and HX Stomp to swap between the Alpha (clean) and Omega (dirty) amp blocks. This emulates switching between the clean and lead channels on the amp.

This download includes patches for Axe-FX III, FM3, and FM9 with options for both single coils and humbuckers. Please make sure to import the appropriate patch for your hardware – they are not interchangeable.

NOTE: The FM3 folder includes an ‘FX” patch. This patch includes the additional effects blocks from the full Axe-FX and FM9 patches. Feel free to substitute any of these effects blocks into the main patch to suite your needs.

The FM3 presets cannot fit all the effects into a single patch. For that platform, we include the amp and essential effects in the main presets, and then we include the additional effects blocks in the ‘FX’ preset. Feel free to mix and match the additional ‘FX’ blocks into the main patches to suite your needs.

BLOCK CHANNELS

For each effect block, we set up all four channels to give you as many options as possible for each individual effect types. For example, in the Compressor block, there are four different types of compression. For drives, we use all available channels in each drive block to get different overdrive flavors. Please experiment with the channels in all the different blocks to find your favorites. Typically we use our favorites in Channel A.

The exceptions to this are usually the amp and cab blocks – for those we usually only set up Channel A.

AMP CHANNEL SWITCH

We’ve set a button on the on the FC controllers to swap channels in the amp block. In Channel A we’ve set up the clean channel of the amp (Alpha), and in Channel B, we’ve set up the lead channel of the amp (Omega). This emulates switching between the clean and lead channels on the amp itself.

SCENES

  • Scene 1: Alpha CLN. Base clean tone
  • Scene 2: Alpha DR1. Engages a KOT drive
  • Scene 3: Omega RHY. Engages the Omega amp block (lead channel)
  • Scene 4: Omega Lead. Big lead tone
  • Scene 5: Ambi CLN. Clean tone with delay and reverb
  • Scene 6: TREM CLEAN. Clean tone with tremolo
  • Scene 7: AMBI LEAD. Big lead tone with lots of delay and reverb
  • Scene 8: SWELLS. All the ambient stuff

In the output block under the ‘Scene Levels’ tab, we’ve adjusted the output level for various scenes. Adjust these to suite your needs.

TONEX AMP CAPTURE PRESETS – Compatible with the Tonex/Amplitube Software and the TONEX pedal

For Tonex, we have captured the amp through its entire gain range of the amp.The tone model captures increase through the entire gain range of the amp for both the clean and lead channels.

The Tone Model presets are numbered, and the number corresponds to the level of gain in the tone model. Lower numbers equal lower gain, and higher numbers equal higher gain. Typically a ‘2’ or ‘3’ is the ‘edge of breakup’, and is the perfect option to use with pedals.

The Omega channel includes three voicings designed to emulate different Marshall Plexi style amplifiers, and we’ve included captures of each voicing:

  • 68: The most vintage voicing. Think late 60’s 100w Plexi
  • 77: This one reminds us more of a 50 watt Plexi
  • 81: 80’s Rock – reminiscent of a JCM800

QUAD CORTEX CAPTURES

For Quad Cortex, we have captured the amp through its entire gain range of the amp. The captures increase through the entire gain range of the amp for both the clean and lead channels.

The captures are numbered, and the number corresponds to the level of gain in the tone model. Lower numbers equal lower gain, and higher numbers equal higher gain. Typically a ‘2’ or ‘3’ is the ‘edge of breakup’, and is the perfect option to use with pedals.

ALL-IN-ONE PRESETS

Also included are gig-ready (Sunday morning ready, to be more precise) all in one presets utilizing captures of this amp and our drive pedals. We’ve included separate presets for both single coil quipped and humbucker equipped guitars. You can use these presets in both Scene and Stomp mode, and they cover a ton of sonic territory.

For the all in one presets, we’ve included a capture of both the Alpha and Omega channels, and we’ve set a button to swap between them. This simulates switching channels on the real amp.

HOW DO YOU GET THE CAPTURES?

When you place your order, we will need to manually send you the captures through the ‘Cortex Cloud’ app by Neural DSP, available for both iOS and Android devices. First, you need to have the app installed and you must have an account through the app (go here to create an account and access the app).

This is how we will send you the captures:

  1. Please include your Cortex Cloud app username in the ‘Notes’ field when checking out. If you do not include this, we cannot send you the captures. After we receive your order, we (WorshipTutorials) will follow you on the app.
  2. Follow ‘WorshipTutorials’ on the Cortex Cloud app. This will make us ‘friends’ through the app :). If you are not following us, we cannot send you the captures.
  3. After we receive your order, and we ‘Friends’ on the app, we will send you the captures through the app. We bundle the captures into presets, so you will receive one (or more) presets that include all the captures. You will find the captures in the ‘Shared with me’ section on your Quad Cortex.
  4. Please allow up to 5 business days for us to send you the captures. Most orders will be fulfilled within two business days or less. This fulfillment process must happen manually – we will do our best to get you the files quickly. Once the NDSP marketplace opens, this process may change.

  • 77: This one reminds us more of a 50 watt Plexi
  • 81: 80’s Rock – reminiscent of a JCM800

KEMPER PERFORMANCES

We’ve programmed the buttons on the Headrush Prime to act like a traditional pedalboard. You’ll see individual effects mapped to the different buttons and labeled appropriately.
