Worship Leader Wednesday is a series where we give you quick tips that you can put into practice today to become a better worship leader
As worship leaders, it can be easy to get so busy and preoccupied with making Christmas happen at our churches that we completely miss it. Here are four tips on how to not miss Christmas.
1. Reflect on the story
Remind yourself why we celebrate in the first place. Remember that the focus of Christmas is Jesus, and that God sent his son to save His people. It seems elementary, but it’s important to reflect on these things.
2. Invite people to church
People are more receptive to an invitation at Christmas time than any other time of the year. This year for Christmas, invite a friend to church. In our experience, invitations are most effective within the context of a personal relationship, so start with your neighbors, coworkers, and friends. If you know somebody who does not have a church home, invite them to church with you.
3. Include your family and friends
Worship leaders have a lot to do around Christmas time, which often means sacrificing time with our families. If you have the opportunity to bring your family or friends alongside you in your planning and preparation, do it.
4. Celebrate
After it’s all over, take a moment to celebrate what God has done. Share it with your family, friends, staff, and your volunteer team. When it comes to your team, thank them for serving, and encourage them with the things God is doing in your church and lives.
At Worship Tutorials we hope you have a Merry Christmas – and don’t miss it!
