Description
TONE MATCH PATCHES, CAPTURES, AND PROFILES OF OUR MATCHLESS CHIEFTAIN
For these presets, we have captured our Matchless Chieftain. The result is set of presets and captures that sound exactly like our amp, and the microphones, preamps, and EQ chains that we use to record it.
The Chieftain has the chime and clarity of an AC style amplifier, but gets very Marshall-like when you increase the gain. You could think of it as a boutique AC-30 type circuit with a bit of Marshall rock thrown in when it counts :).
We’ve captured the amp with a Royer 121 and Earthworks SR25 through a stereo Neve 1073 preamp.
TONE MATCH (Gen 2) PATCHES (Applies to Line 6 and Fractal presets)
These are part of our ‘Tone Match’ line of patches. To create these patches, we make custom IR’s that ‘match’ the HX and Fractal amp models to our real-world amp. The result is the Line 6 and Fractal units sound almost exactly like our actual amplifiers.
The ‘Gen2’ indicates a new process we’ve used when Tone Matching our amplifiers that takes more of the amplifier’s cab and speaker into account, resulting in a more accurate tone match impulse response.
Line 6 Patches available for Helix (floor, LT, and Native), HX Stomp (including Stomp XL), and POD Go.
This download includes patches for Helix, HX Stomp, and POD Go. Please make sure to import the appropriate patch for your hardware – they are not interchangeable.
- NOTE: The HX Stomp and POD Go folders include ‘FX” patches. These patches include the additional effects blocks from the full Helix patch.

BLOCK CHANNELS
For each effect block, we set up all four channels to give you as many options as possible for each individual effect types. For example, in the Compressor block, there are four different types of compression. For drives, we use all available channels in each drive block to get different overdrive flavors. Please experiment with the channels in all the different blocks to find your favorites. Typically we use our favorites in Channel A.
The exceptions to this are usually the amp and cab blocks – for those we usually only set up Channel A.
CONTROL SWITCH 1 (CS1)
Control Switch 1 (CS1) is set to apply an input boost to the amp block (found in the Preamp tab of the amp block).
In order to adjust these settings, on the amp block, navigate to the ‘Preamp’ tab and adjust the Boost Type and Boost Level settings.
We’ve mapped it to a button labeled ‘Amp Gain’ on the FC controllers. See the ‘Per-Preset Mapping and Overrides’ for more info.
You can control which scenes have the Amp Gain button on using the ‘SC Per Scene’ tab in the ‘Controllers’ menu.

TONEX AMP CAPTURE PRESETS – Compatible with the Tonex/Amplitube Software and the TONEX pedal
For Tonex, we have captured the amp through its entire gain range of the amp. The Amp Model Presets and are numbered – higher numbers mean more gain. The ‘Edge of Breakup’ settings that we like to use with a pedal board are usually the 2 and/or 3 capture.
The demos above were created with the all-in-one presets included with this purchase. These presets utilize the amp captures, and no external effects were used – all QC effects blocks and captures.
QUAD CORTEX CAPTURES
For Quad Cortex, we have captured the amp through its entire gain range of the amp and for all available channels (12ax7, EF86, and Jumped). The captures and are numbered – higher numbers mean more gain. The ‘Edge of Breakup’ settings that we like to use with a pedal board are usually the 2 and/or 3 capture.
HOW DO YOU GET THE CAPTURES?
When you place your order, we will need to manually send you the captures through the ‘Cortex Cloud’ app by Neural DSP, available for both iOS and Android devices. First, you need to have the app installed and you must have an account through the app (go here to create an account and access the app).
This is how we will send you the captures:
- Please include your Cortex Cloud app username in the ‘Notes’ field when checking out. If you do not include this, we cannot send you the captures. After we receive your order, we (WorshipTutorials) will follow you on the app.
- Follow ‘WorshipTutorials’ on the Cortex Cloud app. This will make us ‘friends’ through the app :). If you are not following us, we cannot send you the captures.
- After we receive your order, and we ‘Friends’ on the app, we will send you the captures through the app. We bundle the captures into presets, so you will receive one (or more) presets that include all the captures. You will find the captures in the ‘Shared with me’ section on your Quad Cortex.
- Please allow up to 5 business days for us to send you the captures. Most orders will be fulfilled within two business days or less. This fulfillment process must happen manually – we will do our best to get you the files quickly. Once the NDSP marketplace opens, this process may change.

FOOTSWITCH CONFIGURATION
We’ve programmed the switches on the Headrush Prime to act like a traditional pedalboard. You’ll see individual effects mapped to the different buttons and labeled appropriately. If you’d like to make changes, the process is simple – the Headrush Prime manual provides great documentation if you’d like to create scenes or other button mapping.
