In this video, Bradford illustrates (and demonstrates) five tips you can put into practice today to take your electric guitar playing to the next level. We also play through a full song and use all 5 tips to show you how to put them into practice.
Here are the 5 tips:
01:08 – Tip 1. Don’t play big chords until you have to. Save them for the biggest part of the song.
01:55 – Tip 2. Don’t strum your electric guitar like an acoustic guitar.
02:24 – Tip 3. Use alternate chord voicings.
03:07 – Tip 4. Sit out. You don’t have to play during every part of the song. The notes you don’t play are just as important as the ones you do.
04:14 – Tip 5. Use single note lead lines.
06:24 – Song play through featuring all 5 playing tips
Gear Bradford is using in this video:
- Guitar: Duesenberg Starplayer TV
- Amp: Kemper Profiling Amplifier
- Pedals: Origin Effects Cali76 (compressor), Analogman King of Tone (overdrive), Strymon Timeline, Strymon Big Sky
We ran the Kemper straight into a Universal Audio Apollo Twin Duo to record it.
Hi Brad,
I downloaded several of your performances on the kemper and you stated to save the ones I bought in the performance library of rig manager. I do not see a performance library, only a local library. I could only save them in the local library and now I am trying to drag them into “My Profiler.” This does not work. I have an imac. The only way I could use the songs was to connect my computer to the kemper and then double click the song in the local libray on rig manager and then turn the kemper dial to performance.
