Description
To celebrate Fender and their incredible history of amps, we’ve put together a bundle of five tone-match patches, based on our collection of vintage and sought-after Fender amps. The five amps/packs are:
’63 Fender Bassman (6g6-B circuit)
This is a rare and highly collectable Bassman. In ’63 Fender was transition from the tweed circuit to the familiar black panel circuit, and this rare Bassman was born. A bit more mid-focussed than the black panel designs, and a bit less mid scooped than the tweeds.
’67 Fender Vibrolux
This vintage black-panel Vibrolux sounds awesome. The Vibrolux is a 40-watt 2×10 amp that has a bit more midrange focus than a Deluxe Reverb, and we think it sounds better when overdriven. Brian’s favorite Fender of the bunch :).
’65 Fender Princeton (non reverb)
This vintage 1965 Princeton (non reverb) is pristine. The non-reverb Princeton’s sound a bit different than the Princeton Reverbs. The reverb circuit adds an additional gain stage, so the non-reverb Princeton’s stay cleaner a lot longer. Ours came stock with an Alessandro 10″ ceramic speaker, which emulates the sound of the vintage speakers used in the original amps. We tone-matched it with the Alessandro speaker and with a vintage mid-60’s Oxford 10″ speaker, so you get two patches in one with this one.
Fender/Alessandro ’65 Deluxe Reverb Re-Issue
George Alessandro is an amp builder/tech who takes stock Fender amps and completely re-builds them by hand. For the ’65 Deluxe Reverb, he hand-wires the amp to 1965 specs with only the best of the best components. The result is a modern amp that sounds just like they did off the production line in 1965. This is pure vintage black-panel Deluxe Reverb tone.
Fender ’64 Princeton Reverb Hand-Wired Re-Issue
These premium hand-wired re-issues are faithful re-creations, built the same way they were in the ’60’s. They also feature a Jensen P10R speaker. We’ve tone-matched the amp with the original Jensen speaker, but also with a 10″ Celestion Alnico Gold speaker, so you get two patches for this amp (one for each speaker).
